About the role: The DevOps Team Lead is part of the Product Engineering team that is responsible for delivering Optus Business Product and Automation roadmap, to be executed across the Singtel/Optus Business in order to mobilize behind the emerging enterprise market. As the technical team lead you will be in charge of allocation the team’s workload, flexing up with our offshore development partner, and setting the strategy for DevOps practices, tools, and the way of working with Optus Business. The role also requires technically leading a team of engineers and architects and, at the same time, autonomously deliver your deliverables. Also, be able to think outside the box and come up with ideas and continues improvements in the way the teamwork. Also requires strong planning skills, the ability to create and execute strategy, and problem solving for services development to build and drive a cross organizational delivery teams to deliver results. Success will be evident in the measurement of Quality, timeliness and feature set completion of the product roadmap items, and customer deliverables. The role also entails strong knowledge of DevOps frameworks and the ability to drive products and service development. You must be actively using software engineering skills in an Engineering manner and will be responsible for running Infrastructure as code, application/software development with DevOps practices. The role also entails moderate business analysis skills (turning business outcomes to technical deliverables), as well as an understanding of the drivers and dynamics of product and service delivery. The role will work on a few projects in (at times) in parallel, Architecting and Engineering the solutions, and working towards an end outcome to deliver the project or a product outcome. Responsibilities: Automate, automate and automate. Software development Hands on writing scripts to provision, manage and change ICT devices. Ensuring the team are loaded and running efficiently, this includes running all the teams workload in Jira and ensuring Jira is up to date. Contribute to enhance automation platform and tools. Write unit test and test scripts to ensure continuous delivery though CI/CD pipeline You will be responsible designing, documenting and implementing product offerings, with the scope to highly digitise (automate) these offerings. Working with both the product architects and the infrastructure engineering team to design/ develop, and deliver to the Product roadmap Work with Agile methodology to deliver tasks, however still conforming to a level of ITIL and following Optus Service management principles Work closely with the operations and delivery teams to ensure and smooth transition into operations for ongoing BAU management. As well at times doing the initial run of new product offerings until they are transitioned into operations.
