We must be anticipating the needs and requirements of our existing and new customers, by providing them game changing experiences The Role The State Sales Manager for the Direct Sales Force in SMB will be responsible for delivering on state-based growth aspirations across Mobile, Mobile Data, Fixed and ICT services. The role will be accountable to the delivery of the Annual Operating Plan at a sales, revenue and margin level across a team of business development managers, strategic account managers and support staff. The Direct Sales Force (DSF) is an essential component of the SMB channel strategy and must set a high professional benchmark in the delivery of the Optus story to the SMB segment. A key part of the role is to ensure that each member of the DSF is operating with the intent and competencies to exceed customer expectations and align with organisational values and to protect the integrity of the Optus brand is of the upmost importance in all sales and post sales customer contact. The scope of this role is to build a state team that is best in class in the sales and delivery of mobile, fixed, data and ICT services to SMB customers with 5 – 200 employees. The opportunity is considerable, and the task is to execute a ‘game plan’ that supports a growing team to achieve market leading sales outcomes on a consistent basis. This will include all aspects of sales from lead generation, pipeline management to product delivery and revenue turn on. The team will be geographically diverse and the role will require strong working relationships with the State Director to ensure a discipline and effective execution to deliver to all KPIs. Responsibilities include: Provide clear role definition for the team, along with required outcomes Actively support the Recruitment and Performance Management of the team Set and Manage activity KPIs for Business Development Managers Support the team with effective campaigns for targeted prospecting. Set up a framework for a high performance, high reward culture through effective targets, and incentive structures. Provide regular and constructive feedback through a structured engagement process with each team member Support the sales efforts with a growing prospecting and lead generation structure. Support an environment in which team members are continually provided with the opportunity to increase the skills required to perform at optimum levels in the role. Build and Execute a high-performance sales plan with all sales heads. In-market sales coaching. Develop a Talent pool of future high perming team members.
