POSITION SUMMARY
Lead, in a hands-on manner, development and validation of manufacturing processes of impeccable quality for diagnostic instruments and consumables, as a part of Zoetis VMRD. The focus of the Diagnostics R&D Process Development team, as part of a co-development team with colleagues from Global Manufacturing Technology (GMT) and Global Manufacturing Supply (GMS), is as follows:
(1) Ensure Design For Manufacturability is considered during design of every new Diagnostic instrument and consumable
(2) Develop pilot manufacturing processes for new Diagnostic instruments and consumables
(3) Validate manufacturing processes for new Diagnostic instruments and consumables, including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ)
(4) Co-lead transfer of Manufacturing Processes for new instruments and consumables to GMT and GMS
(5) Develop and transfer specifications for Manufacturing Processes for new instruments and consumables to GMT and GMS
This position will report directly to the Vice President of Global Diagnostics R&D. The role interacts extensively with counterparts in other VMRD (Veterinary Medicine Research and Development) groups, and Global Manufacturing Technology (GMT), GMS (Global Manufacturing and Supply), and Zoetis PMI (Product Management and Innovation), to ensure alignment of the diagnostic R&D process development strategy with internal and external requirements. This role also works in close collaboration with the Director of Diagnostics R&D Systems and Hardware development and the Director of Diagnostics R&D Software development, and device development leaders in Raleigh (North Carolina), to ensure that assays and instruments work together to create diagnostic solutions that meet and exceed customer requirements.
