Description

• Providing support in reviewing marketing proposals and collaterals and educating marketing team to ensure compliance with local laws, regulations and codes which apply to medical devices in the field of advertising, promotion and labelling
• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating or otherwise providing legal support to the various types of contracts and commercial transactions arising from the growing business of Align Technology in Taiwan and Hong Kong
• Coordinating with global and/or regional teams on localization and execution of new global/regional initiatives, systems or policies.Preparing and reviewing sales support documents and assisting in developing standard document templates and related SOPs
• Providing regular trainings and guidance to commercial team to ensure legal compliance with respect to contract approval, execution and filing
• Providing general support in other legal and regulatory aspects of the activities of Align Technology in Taiwan and Hong Kong, such as trademark enforcement and brand protection, anti-bribery compliance, anti-trust issues
• Coordinating with outside counsel on the various legal matters and providing support in Align Technology’s interactions with government regulators in Taiwan and Hong Kong
• Monitoring major legislative developments and regulatory changes in Taiwan and Hong Kong that is relevant to Align Technology and updating legal and commercial teams accordingly

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Top academic credentials from a leading Taiwan law school and preferably, completion of an LL.M, J.D., or equivalent at a recognized U.S. or U.K. law school
• At least 6 years’ work experience with an international or leading Taiwan law firm or equivalent in-house experience with a multinational company, or a combination of the two, among which more than a half is related to Taiwan
• Substantial experience in marketing, contracts, distributorship, public tender process, sales support, other commercial activities and general corporate matters required
• Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other healthcare sectors preferred
• Experience in advertising and promotion compliance, brand protection and trademark enforcement, and anti-bribery compliance preferred
• Bar qualification obtained in any of Taiwan, Hong Kong, U.S. or U.K is required

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Fluent in Chinese and English, together with excellent drafting skills in Chinese and English. Understanding Cantonese is preferred.
• Demonstrable ability to think and act independently
• Ability to independently make sound judgments and recommendations on contract and other commercial issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with a broad audience including legal, business, marketing and highly specialized technical individuals
• Flexible and willing to learn sensitivities and issues represented in different legal systems and adapt to a continuously changing legal environment
• Self-motivator, quick-learner and team oriented
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, highly customized business environment
• Ability to multi task and prioritize work
• A pleasant personality with good interpersonal skill
