Reporting to the Area Manager, the position of Business Development Manager is a pivotal role within the Optus Retail group and a key priority for the overall strategy moving forward. The primary purpose of the role is to effectively grow the Optus Small Business Market share across all lines of business achieving SMB targets.

Acquiring new customers, retaining, re-signing, cross selling and up selling a nominated portfolio by Optus within the local Business community are the key focus areas of the role. Identifying new prospects to gain market share is also a key KPI. You’ll be a specialist in this field and will work in a consultative manner to maximise business opportunities, driving the sourcing, qualification and close of new business for all Optus products across SMB.

The role will source Whole of Business customers, through the development, implementation and maximisation of sales opportunities across Mobile Voice, Data, Wireless Email, Fixed, and Mobile Broadband. Success in this role will be evident in the achievement of targets and NPS (Customer Satisfaction) and selling to the Small Business market segment of 1-150 employees (excluding government).

We’re seeking an experienced professional that can identify the needs of the customer, matching our extensive product suite to their individual business needs and outcomes focused.

We are looking for the following skills, experience and attributes

  • B2B and outbound experience in Telco
  • Experience with Small Business segment preferred
  • Implementing successful execution strategies with corresponding results
  • Ability to think around a multi-faceted issue to quickly identify the best solution
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to deliver results with competing priorities and minimal supervision
  • Communicate with presence and confidence
  • Key influencer- enthusiastic, positive and energetic presence with the ability to influences others
