Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Junior Software Developer in Singapore. The Junior Software Developer will work closely with one of our in-house trading teams to design, develop, and implement efficient code for various components of the team's low latency, high throughput production trading and research system.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the development of a research platform that uses large quantities of historical data
- Assisting in development tasks related to the day to day running and management of a production trading system
- Creating tools to analyze and visualize data and generate insights that research decisions are based on
Required Qualifications
- A strong background in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
- Strong working knowledge of Linux, C++, Python
- Experience using version control and code review processes
- 1 year working experience within a professional software development firm or team (financial industry will carry some preference)
- Detail oriented problem-solving abilities
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and own problems
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills in English for business purposes
Preferred Qualifications
- Curious, creative and independent, demonstrated by evidence of contribution to open source software, entrepreneurial like ventures or projects
- An interest and some exposure to machine learning and large computational optimization problems
- Open minded and “can-do” attitude approach and willingness to be involved in a wide cross section of development tasks
