Design and develop real-time software for audio and digital communications algorithms and device drivers to be used in wireless products.
Work in a global environment – teams in 3 continents – to develop software algorithms that will be used in all Motorola public safety wireless products globally.
● Analyze tradeoffs and prioritize requirements; address requirement conflicts.
● Develop DSP algorithms for wireless protocols.
● Architect, design and develop fixed point DSP software on various target processors.
● Design and implement optimization techniques for improving algorithm performance.
● Tune algorithms to meet strict real-time performance requirements.
● Optimize memory usage of algorithms.
● Design and implement device driver and peripheral drivers to meet strict protocol timing
requirements.
● Provide technical leadership to a globally located team of developers.
● Some global travel may be required
Additional Qualified Skills:
● Minimum of 3 years of low level software development experience on embedded targets.
● Strong software engineering background, with academic and industry experience will be weighted heavily.
● Experience with TI DSPs a plus.
● Candidate should have gone through at least one full product development lifecycle for a wireless communication product.
● Academic grounding in DSP and Digital communications a plus.
● Prior software development experience in a globally distributed team environment is desirable.
● A BS in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master's Degree preferred.
● Minimum of 3 years experience in Wireless product development
