Department Overview

Job Description

  • To have a thorough and practical understanding of all PS-LTE (PSCS) applications used i.e Voice and Data applications, VOIP, DNS, Load balancing, Firewalls, Provisioning, Billing, SIMOTA 
  • To have wide understanding of 3GPP standards, LTE core network elements and their functions
  • To play an integral role within the Installation and Upgrades teams for the deployment of PSCS (PS-LTE) applications, OS hosts and VMware
  • To support and have responsibility for the installation of PSCS applications, upgrades, testing and issue resolution as they arise
  • To customise generic product/system configurations against customer requirements
  • Perform detailed design activities to refine the required system solutions
  • Provide input and support to solution Architects in design reviews
  • Generation of system specific technical documentation to project quality standards and processes
  • Undertake presentations/demonstrations of technical capabilities and service and solution designs to customers
  • Provide technical support for the deployment of the project
  • Timely detection and resolution of deviations from the scope of work and the project plan timelines
  • Ensuring compliance with project processes and project plan
  • Closure of outstanding items from verification process in timely manner to customer’s satisfaction
  • Proactively reporting back into the organisation and escalating where appropriate
  • Analysing customer requirements determining required features and functionality to meet those requirements
  • Interface into internal MSI product teams and suppliers for alignment of requirements and deliverables
  • Responsible for interfacing into product team counterparts to ensure service products meet requirements
  • Working with Product Suppliers, Partners, Vendors and Integration teams to define methods of verification
  • Act as interface between product and Project test organisations with regards to Acceptance testing strategies
  • Review test cases and customer acceptance testing activities in a public safety environment

Basic Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of voice and data communications solutions
  • Documenting System Integration related designs and procedures
  • Good communication skills and confidence to present solutions to potential customers Expertise in defining and documenting detailed interfaces, system designs and network solutions
  • Ideally expertise in public safety communications services 
  • Good Knowledge of 3G/4G architecture and Core Network elements
  • Good understanding of QOS in LTE Networks
  • Knowledge and hands on experience in various Interfaces in LTE i.e. Rx, Gx, SGi etc
  • Working knowledge of PCRF, DSC, EPG, PGW and SGW
  • Good understanding of IT Infrastructure needed for communication systems
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
