About the Role

The Audio Visual Engineer will be responsible for provisioning, maintenance and monitoring of our AV systems within WeWork member sites throughout the Tri-State region. In addition to technical troubleshooting both onsite and remotely, the role also includes interfacing with both WeWork Members and colleagues for training, support, and effective use of WeWork AV systems. The AV Engineer role works in collaboration with other support teams including: technical project managers, internal IT technicians, networking, as well as coordinating with outside vendors and integrators.

The ideal candidate will bring an enthusiasm for Audio Visual technology and a willingness to expand their skill set while operating in a high energy fast paced environment along a high performing global team.

Position Goals & Objectives

  • Establish and support the hardware and software standard required for AV services in the Tri-State region.
  • Coordinate with Community and Operations department to disseminate information regarding AV infrastructure
  • Train and educate members from other teams in the effective use of AV equipment
  • Actively provide feedback and act as an SME for the design and processes related to AV infrastructure
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met concerning AV infrastructure services within Tri-State

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and provide ongoing education, training and guidance to Member Technology Specialists for Level 2 support for all company AV systems
  • Ability to effectively traverse between sites throughout NYC utilizing public transportation
  • Directly provide Level 3 support for member-facing AV systems including: Crestron, QSC Q-SYS, wireless screen sharing, digital signage, and 70v audio systems
  • Review of design documents for new sites and renovation projects to enforce against WeWork AV standards
  • Configure AV hardware and systems in coordination with team members from Member Technology and Network Engineering, as well as external contractors, for successful new location openings
  • Actively participate in improving existing AV standards with the supporting Building Technology team through feedback acquired from directly and observed in the field
  • Research and develop new AV solutions in coordination with other members of the Audio Visual team
  • Occasionally moves AV equipment up to 50 pounds within sites
  • Measure availability and reliability of AV infrastructure and systems against established metrics

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in audio visual services
  • Knowledge of DSPs, signal flow and routing, AV controllers and installed audio visual systems
  • Experience in general IT support and background working with enterprise level networks
  • General electrical knowledge (LV and analog signal)
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions (including in emergency situations)
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language
  • Hands on experience with terminations, diagnostic tools, cabling, and hand tools
  • Ready to work independently as part of a globally distributed team
  • Highly self-motivated and capable of self management in day to day tasks
  • Proven analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience working in a high performance team and highly collaborative environment
