Your Role

One of AQR’s major technological priorities this year is to build a best-in-breed client technology platform - one that will help our firm meet and exceed growing client needs, seamlessly onboarding new clients and providing them with in-depth, up-to-date reports on their investments. As the software architect on the Client Technology team, you will help design and implement a brand-new reporting applications suite – a mission-critical effort that will help us provide an even higher level of service to our clients. You will work hand in hand with senior stakeholders across the firm, while also serving as the technical lead for the team of developers working on this project. Working on this signature program is a highly-visible and impactful role, with the potential to transform a key element of our technological infrastructure. This is practitioning architect role and as such you will be expected to balance defining a future vision and design with rolling your sleeves to develop code when the need arises.

What You Will Bring

  • Experience in design and development of enterprise level client facing applications using SOA/Microservices, events and Web UI
  • Experience in Angular, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap, JSON and REST services.
  • Experience in cloud development (AWS preferred), PaaS
  • Experience in mobile development is a plus (CSS/native/hybrid)
  • Experience leading team of developers onshore and off-shore
  • Ability to plan a technical roadmap and deliver on the transformation
  • Understanding design patterns and coding best practices, unit testing and Continuous integration/Continuous deployment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in financial industry a benefit
  • Experience in reporting is a plus
  • Self-starter, team player, and excellent problem solver

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, development and deployment of new Reporting Applications Suite
  • Work independently with Business stakeholders and Business Analysts to define user requirements
  • Translation of business requirements to technical requirements
  • Collaborate with and act as the technical lead for a team of developers
  • Work closely with other engineering teams on integration interfaces
  • Lead and drive decision making discussions
  • Develop cloud migration strategy
  • Define development and design standards
  • Conduct architecture and code reviews
  • Agile/Scrum delivery
