FORMULATION SCIENTIST
We are seeking a formulation scientist at the Principal Scientist or Senior Principal Scientist level to support development of new veterinary drug products and reformulation of existing products at our R&D headquarters in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with an emphasis on liquid formulation development. The formulation scientist will be responsible for characterization of candidate molecules, designing early enabling formulations, conducting preformulation research, developing formulations and manufacturing processes and scale-up and transfer into production facilities. This is an exciting opportunity where the scientist will have full ownership on formulation development, scale-up and technical documentation. The scientist will also work with global manufacturing colleagues for technology transfer and production of registration stability batches. The scientist will be expected to support interdisciplinary teams of colleagues from research (biologist, medicinal chemist, pharmacologist), clinical development, safety, regulatory and marketing. On occasion, the scientist will be expected to lead pharmaceutical science teams which bring forward the active molecule, drug product, analytical methods and drug supplies for drug candidates from early discovery stage to commercialization. The focus of this formulation position is liquid formulation development (sterile injectable, solution, suspension). The scientist will also have the opportunity to work on various additional dosage forms including oral (tablets, medicated feed additives) and topical. The scientist will have the opportunity to work on various innovative projects to tailor dosage forms based on specific needs of different animal species.
