Description

At zulily we are obsessed with bringing moms special finds every day—all at incredible prices. We typically launch 9000 products every day. Doing this at scale requires us to be make data driven decisions. We collect metrics related to site and app performance, sales, pricing and funnel them back into the system to improve customer experience on an ongoing basis.

 

As a site reliability engineer in zulily, you will join us as a important member of the team and provide leadership in all areas that relate to operations and reliability. You'll be integrated within the data platform team and work directly with data engineers and software engineers to address the challenges we currently face and to prepare for the next phase of our growth.


Qualifications

  • Have built and maintained highly-available distributed applications

  • Have worked with diverse stacks, including both state-full and stateless services

  • Strong predilection for automation (Chef, Puppet, SaltStack).

  • Strong scripting and experience building diverse, robust tooling

  • Have designed and built diverse and highly-available distributed services from the ground up

  • Experience building, scaling and supporting Hadoop clusters

  • Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform

  • Proficiency in Java, Golang and Python

  • Experience in data-driven capacity planning

  • Experience defining and supporting continuous integration and deployment
