Job Description

We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a talented team of engineers in delivering innovative, AI-powered financial capabilities within our flagship cloud accounting platform.

As an Engineering Manager at Sage, you will lead and develop a high-performing engineering team while partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders to deliver high-quality software. You'll provide technical and people leadership, helping to shape strategy, drive execution, and deliver impactful outcomes across multiple workstreams.

• Please note that this role is hybrid and requires working 3 days a week from our Atlanta office. ***

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and grow a team of software engineers — including hiring, coaching, and performance development
• Drive the team's delivery cadence, establishing clear processes, priorities, and ways of working
• Own end-to-end accountability for engineering delivery across your team's product areas
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to align on roadmap and execution
• Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies, risks, and blockers proactively
• Contribute to technical strategy and architectural decisions alongside senior engineers
• Build a strong team culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Represent the engineering team in stakeholder discussions and cross-functional planning forums

Requirements

• Engineering Manager experience leading software teams
• Strong people leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
• Demonstrated success delivering AI-powered products or customer-facing AI solutions
• Experience delivering enterprise software in Agile environments
• Ability to lead distributed teams and balance technical, strategic, and operational responsibilities

Preferred

• Background in ERP, accounting, fintech, or financial software
• Familiarity with platforms such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle
• Knowledge of PHP, Java, APIs, distributed systems, and AI integrations
