Job Title: Electromechanical AssemblerJob Description

This role is responsible for assembling, mounting, and performing basic wiring of electrical and mechanical components using standard layouts and options. You will carry out sub-assembly tasks, support production with completed sub-assemblies, and develop enhanced wiring skills under the guidance of a more experienced electrical assembler. The position plays a key role in ensuring that electrical products and enclosures are built accurately and function correctly according to customer drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and mount electrical, mechanical, and sub-assembly components onto pans, within enclosures, and on structures by following standard layouts.
• Wire electrical products with basic and standard options by interpreting and following customer drawing packages and electrical schematics.
• Assist in wiring electrical products with non-standard options under the direction of a more experienced electrical assembler, using customer drawings and schematics.
• Perform continuity checks, such as buzzing out circuits, to verify proper functionality of assembled and wired products.
• Complete all required checklists and documentation to confirm assembly and wiring steps have been performed correctly.
• Assemble enclosures and structures as needed to support production requirements.
• Deliver completed sub-assemblies to designated production areas in a timely and organized manner.
• Support inventory maintenance in the sub-assembly area by performing cycle counts and following standard materials procedures.
• Access and use information through CSSM or similar systems to follow materials and inventory processes accurately.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
• Follow all safety guidelines and quality standards within the production facility.
• Collaborate with team members and more experienced assemblers to continuously improve wiring and assembly skills.

Essential Skills

• 1–2 years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Basic wiring experience, including working with standard electrical connections and layouts.
• Grade 12 or equivalent level of education.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, customer drawing packages, and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in using hand tools for mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
• Ability to safely operate power tools as required for assembly work.
• Attention to detail to ensure correct assembly, wiring, and completion of checklists.
• Capability to perform continuity checks and basic functional tests on electrical assemblies.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components used in assemblies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using wire strippers and crimpers for electrical wiring tasks.
• Basic math skills to support measurements, counts, and simple calculations in assembly and inventory work.
• Comfort working with both electrical and mechanical components in a production setting.
• Willingness to learn enhanced wiring techniques under the guidance of experienced electrical assemblers.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented production environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a production facility that is clean and spacious, with some areas having a loud production environment. You will work Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., using hand tools, power tools, and equipment related to mechanical and electrical assembly. The setting emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to standard procedures while supporting efficient workflow across sub-assembly and production areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mississauga, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
