Data Center Technician

Location: Levittown, PA

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM

Pay: $19-$30/hr based on experience + Overtime Available

We are hiring Data Center Technicians to support one of the largest and most advanced data center environments on the East Coast. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced data center, structured cabling, and network infrastructure professionals looking to grow their careers in a highly technical, mission-critical environment.

If you have experience working in live data centers, installing and troubleshooting copper and fiber cabling, performing cross-connects, rack-and-stack activities, and supporting network infrastructure, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Work within an active, production data center environment where attention to detail is critical.
  • Install, route, pull, and terminate Cat6A cabling.
  • Perform fiber optic patching, trunking, and cross-connect activities.
  • Support network infrastructure including:
    • Meet-Me Rooms (MMRs)
    • Network cages
    • Cabinets and racks
    • Patch panels
    • Network switches
  • Complete rack-and-stack installations of network and server equipment.
  • Survey existing infrastructure and document cabling accurately.
  • Label, track, and update connectivity records.
  • Perform troubleshooting and connectivity validation.
  • Conduct Fluke testing and cable certification when required.
  • Support migrations, upgrades, moves, adds, and changes within the data center.
  • Assist with equipment and cabinet relocations while following strict environmental and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working in a live data center environment.
  • Experience with cross-connects, MMRs, network cages, cabinets, and switches.
  • Hands-on experience pulling and terminating Cat6A cabling.
  • Experience with fiber patching and trunk installations.
  • Ability to read and follow network and cabling documentation.
  • Experience surveying, labeling, and documenting infrastructure.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to structured cabling and physical network connectivity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluke testing and certification experience.
  • Rack-and-stack experience.
  • Experience supporting data center moves, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling best practices in critical environments.
  • Previous experience supporting large enterprise or financial-services data centers.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on position that requires technicians to perform labor-intensive tasks in a highly controlled environment.

Candidates must be able to:

  • Lift and move equipment safely.
  • Assist with relocating large network cabinets and racks.
  • Work on their feet for extended periods.
  • Bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces when necessary.
  • Follow strict cleanliness and safety requirements within a dust-free data center environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Levittown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
