1. Post Context/Post Summary
Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) HQ is the Théâtre Land Component and Land Advocate responsible for coordinating and synchronizing NATO and Partner Land Forces by enabling land domain readiness, interoperability, standardization, and competency; on order deploys headquarters elements to provide planning, coordination, and command capabilities to Allied forces.
The Operations Directorate is responsible to Chief of Staff (COS) for monitoring and coordinating operational staff functions.
The Engineering (GENG) Division analyses the terrain and infrastructure of the Area of Operations (AOR) and determines their effect on mobility, counter-mobility and survivability, recommends protective works and neutralization of opposing force's protective structures; it also proposes infrastructure improvements and protection against improvised explosive devices.
The lnfrastructure and Plans Branch provides advice on the infrastructure in the Area of Operations and on military engineering to the Land Operations Planning Group and drafts LANDCOM projects for the NATO Security lnvestment Programme.
The Staff Officer (Engineering Resource and Logistics) provides Engineer resources and logistics to the OPG and deployed force. ln a crisis deploys with the GENG Div.
2. Principal Duties
The incumbent's duties are:
ln Peacetime Vigilance, the incumbent fulfils the following functions/duties:
1. ls responsible to the Branch Head for all matters related to GENG Logistics, resources and Host Nation Support (HNS), including coordination of Logistic effort with the Logistic Division, JFC and Contractors.
2. The GENG representative to DCOS Support disciplines.
3. Coordinates and monitors the development and implementation the GËNG Logistics, resources and HNS arrangements within the LANDCOM Area of Responsibility.
4. Contributes in the development of MILENG logistic plans, Engineer Appendices in Operational Staff work and be prepared to support the SO Plans and 5O Operations in Operational Planning Group (OPG) events.
5. Provides contribution and input to the relevant Recognized Military Engineer Picture, Recognized Logistic Picture and LOGFAS.
6. ldentifies and highlights Engineer Logistic and Resource shortfalls, risks and surpluses.
7. Supports Requirement Review WG/B, HQ Sustainment WG/B and HNS WG as required.
8. Develop and maintain input to NATO doctrine and publications.
9. Submits observations in his/her area of expertise and contributes to the Lessons Learned process.
10. Advise the Command on any issues pertaining to MILENG Logistics and resources.
ln Crisis, in addition to the above they:
11. Apply the same tasks from above to the Planning cycle.
12. Contributes to Land Coordination Orders, OPORDs, FRAGOs.
13. Supports Requirement Review WG/B, HQ Sustainment WG/B and HNS WG as required.
3. Special Requirements and Additional Duties
The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organization at the same grade without there being any change to the contract.
The incumbent may be required to undertake operation deployments in support of military operations and exercises and/or TDY assignments both within and without NATO's boundaries. Such operational requirement may exceed 30 days duration up to 183 days in any period of 547 days and may be on short notice. For NATO lnternational Civilian Staff, acceptance of an employment contract linked to this post constitutes agreement to deploy in excess of 30 days if required.
The work is normally performed in a Normal NATO office working environment.

Activities that operate, maintain, and perform war/battle damage repair and other engineering functions typically in support of military operations. lnvolved in operational planning to identify the minimum essential engineering services required to support the commitment of military forces.

Participates in the overall planning, organizing, and directing of programmes, services, and support activities carried out through all logistics functions. Develops plans and policy guidance to implement logistics management programs. Directs and administers a positive management- oriented logistics management programme.
