Platform Software Engineer - Python/AWS

We are looking for a Platform Software Engineer to help us build tools with Python and AWS. You will work on systems that help our teams work better. You will build APIs, connect different platforms, and create tools that make work easier for other engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build cost tracking systems that connect with tools like GitHub, Slack, PagerDuty, and Docker
  • Build and take care of internal APIs using Python and FastAPI
  • Set up deployment methods, monitoring rules, and clear documentation for APIs
  • Develop identity management tools that work with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra
  • Lead work to update infrastructure, including CI/CD changes and AWS Lambda setup
  • Make developer tools such as templates, GitHub Copilot guides, and browser extensions
  • Set up monitoring and alert systems using New Relic
  • Help create company-wide rules for good code quality
  • Work with other teams to connect systems like Snowflake, SonarQube, and ServiceNow
  • Keep Terraform code updated for AWS resources like Lambda, ECS, and S3

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a software engineer with good Python skills
  • Experience building REST APIs with FastAPI or Flask
  • Knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, S3, SSM, and API Gateway
  • Skills in Terraform for infrastructure-as-code work
  • Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation
  • Familiarity with Docker and container tools
  • Understanding of identity systems like Active Directory, Azure AD, and SSO
  • Experience with monitoring tools, especially New Relic
  • Good testing habits, including unit and integration tests
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

  • Experience with modern Python tools like uv, bumpver, Black, and pytest
  • Background in developer experience or platform engineering
  • Experience with GitHub Enterprise admin and webhooks
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or similar data tools
  • Knowledge of PagerDuty for incident management
