JOB TITLE: Numerical Control Programmer 3
LOCATION: Everett, WA
PAY RATE: $63.25/hour

Summary:
- Create, verify, and revise Machine Control Data (MCD), tooling geometry, and setup documentation for multi-axis CNC machines (primarily 5-axis)
- Interpret engineering drawings, planning documentation, and manufacturing requirements to develop robust NC programs for aluminum and hard-metal aerospace parts
- Develop multiple setups and operations for complex part geometries, ensuring fixturing, tooling, and machine selection support producibility and tolerance requirements
- Create detailed setup sheets and operator instructions to ensure safe and consistent machine operation
- Utilize simulation and verification tools (e.g., Vericut) to validate programs and eliminate collisions or gouges before production release
- Troubleshoot and refine programs based on first article inspections (FAI), in-process feedback, and shop-floor testing
- Collaborate with planning, manufacturing engineering, tooling, and machine operators to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and address manufacturability concerns
- Support fixture design and tooling strategies for complex machining operations (Level 4 responsibilities)
- Maintain program revisions, documentation, and configuration control in accordance with company and contract requirements
- Work under general direction in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Requirements:
- 5+ years of NC programming experience in production machining or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience programming 5-axis CNC machines for aerospace components (aluminum and hard metals)
- Proficiency reading and interpreting:
- Engineering drawings
- GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Manufacturing documentation
- Proficient in CATIA V5 NC programming
- Proficient with NC simulation/verification software, such as Vericut
- Ability to create clear setup documentation and operator instructions
- Ability to work 2nd shift as required
- Must be eligible to work under the terms of the contract engagement
- Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience creating custom fixtures and tooling for multi-setup machining operations
- Experience defining machining strategies and selecting appropriate machines and processes for part families
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and first article requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of improving producibility and reducing cycle times
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across planning, engineering, and shop-floor teams
- Experience with additional CAM systems or aerospace post-processors
