Cloud Security Engineer

Overview

We are seeking experienced Senior Cloud Security Engineers to join a growing Platform Engineering organization focused on securing modern cloud platforms and enabling secure-by-design engineering practices.

This role combines cloud security engineering, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, and security architecture. The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder who can design and automate security controls across Azure and AWS environments while partnering with engineering, development, and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud security controls across Azure and AWS environments.
• Create reusable security patterns, reference architectures, and engineering standards.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, Bicep, CDK, YAML, and JSON.
• Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines and cloud platform deployments.
• Perform security risk assessments and provide remediation recommendations.
• Review and evaluate security exception requests.
• Define compensating controls and document risk decisions.
• Partner with cloud engineering, application development, and security teams to implement secure solutions.
• Support vulnerability management activities and remediation efforts.
• Leverage security posture management tools to identify and resolve cloud security issues.
• Contribute to cloud governance, security standards, and platform security initiatives.
• Support emerging AI security and secure platform initiatives as required.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Cyber Security with strong Cloud Security Engineering expertise.
• Deep experience securing Azure and/or AWS environments.
• Hands-on DevSecOps experience.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using:
  • Terraform
  • Bicep
  • CDK
  • YAML
  • JSON
• Experience implementing cloud security controls and guardrails.
• Strong understanding of cloud security architecture and security patterns.
• Experience conducting security risk assessments.
• Experience partnering with platform engineering and application teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Wiz or similar CSPM/CNAPP platforms.
• Azure Landing Zone experience.
• Application Security or Product Security experience.
• Multi-cloud experience across Azure and AWS.
• Experience securing cloud-native platforms and applications.
• Exposure to AI security, AI governance, and agentic architectures.
• Experience with technologies such as Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Fabric, AWS Bedrock, or SageMaker.

Pay Range:

$65 - $70 per hour
