Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Maintenance Technician on the 2nd shift, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities specializing in milk, cottage cheese, and sour cream. You will be responsible for performing both preventive and reactive maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on conveyors, palletizing/wrapping machines, bag sealers, filler machines, blow molds, and mixing machines.
  • Work on label printers, fixing and changing pipes, valves, and maintaining forklifts and facilities.
  • Balance workload with 50% preventive maintenance and 50% reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Handle 40% electrical and 60% mechanical work, requiring a foundational knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Participate in on-call rotation on Sundays, with compensation of 4 hours of overtime whether called in or not.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Proficient in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, including 480-V and 3-phase motors.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in working with conveyor systems, especially those with VFD.
  • Possession of personal tooling, including hand and power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus.

Work Environment

Work in a production facility located in Fort Wayne, where you will join a team dedicated to high-quality production. The position operates on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2 PM to 10 PM, with overtime as needed. Enjoy a cooperative team atmosphere and gain exposure to advanced machinery and equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
