Job Title: Machine OperatorJob Description

This role operates production machinery on a fast-paced line that manufactures pizza products in a food production plant. You will ensure equipment runs safely and efficiently while maintaining consistent product quality and supporting overall production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery on a fast-paced pizza manufacturing line in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
  • Monitor machine performance during production runs and make basic adjustments to maintain efficiency and product quality.
  • Perform visual and manual inspections of products and components to ensure they meet quality specifications.
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances when required.
  • Read and interpret simple blueprints or production specifications to set up and operate machines correctly.
  • Assist with general production tasks, including loading materials, unloading finished products, and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Identify basic mechanical issues, communicate problems to the appropriate personnel, and assist in troubleshooting when needed.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and plant-specific policies to maintain a safe and sanitary production environment.
  • Complete required production and inspection documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and support continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including the ability to understand how machines operate and recognize basic mechanical issues.
  • Experience operating production or manufacturing machinery in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to perform general labor and general production tasks as needed.
  • Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints or production specifications.
  • Ability to use basic measuring tools such as calipers for inspection and quality checks.
  • Attention to detail for inspecting products and ensuring quality standards.
  • Ability to work safely and follow written and verbal instructions in a production environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts on an overnight schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a machine operator in a food production or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with inspection processes and quality control in a manufacturing setting.
  • Comfort working on rotating or non-traditional schedules, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with other production staff.

Work Environment

This position works in a production environment within a food manufacturing plant. You operate on a fast-paced pizza production line, handling machinery and materials in a setting that prioritizes food safety and cleanliness. The available schedules are on overnight 12-hour shifts: B Crew works Sunday through every other Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and D Crew works every other Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The environment involves standing for long periods, working around moving mechanical equipment, and following strict hygiene and safety procedures appropriate for a foods plant.

The pay range for this position is $39000.00 - $43160.00/yr.
