Summary
The Machine Operator I operates and maintains a single machine or machine line, ensuring efficient operation with minimal supervision while meeting production, quality, and safety standards.
Functions Of the Position
- Set up, load, and monitor machinery to ensure efficient operation.
- Follow work orders, quality requirements, and sanitation procedures, including cleanup and changeovers.
- Direct and instruct machine line personnel on specific job duties.
- Perform pre-operational equipment checks.
- Create pallet ID labels and verify all materials and products before use on the production line. Complete daily PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) equipment inspections to maintain safety.
- Meet or exceed production, quality, and safety standards.
Additional Functions
- Clean machinery following production runs and changeovers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Experience
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Previous industrial truck experience preferred.
- Previous machine operator experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Good manual dexterity, vision, and mobility.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, move, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods
