At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the AI Platforms and Services Team, helping to build and evolve Roche's internal AI Agentic Platform - a platform that enables teams to design, build, run, evaluate, and scale AI agents and agentic workflows across the enterprise.
You will work across the modern agentic AI technology stack, including agent orchestration, model integration, tool use, enterprise data access, retrieval-augmented generation, context engineering, agent memory, governance, observability, and feedback loops. Your work will help ensure that AI agents are grounded in trusted enterprise context, connected to the right systems and data, and operated in a secure, compliant, and scalable way.
You will design and implement AI powered workflows, automation pipelines, reusable agent components, and platform capabilities that integrate large language models, enterprise data, APIs, knowledge systems, workflow tools, and business applications. Your work will help developers, data scientists, and business teams rapidly create AI-enabled solutions using approved, reusable, and enterprise-ready patterns.
A critical part of the role will be creating reusable blueprints, templates, connectors, reference architectures, and developer examples that accelerate adoption of the platform. These assets will help internal teams build agentic AI solutions using recommended approaches for retrieval.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building modern AI systems, working with emerging agentic frameworks, solving complex integration challenges, and enabling other teams through high-quality platform capabilities and technical guidance.
Description of the area
The AI Platforms and Services Team is responsible for building the foundational platforms, reusable services, and engineering capabilities that enable Roche teams to develop AI, GenAI, and agentic solutions at scale.
We focus on creating secure, compliant, AI-builder-friendly platforms that simplify the use of large language models, enterprise data, workflow automation, retrieval-augmented generation, model context integration, AI orchestration, and agentic software development patterns. Our mission is to accelerate AI adoption across Roche by providing robust platform capabilities, reusable engineering patterns, and best practices that help teams move from experimentation to reliable business value.
The person in this role will work in a modern Agentic AI platform environment that connects multiple layers of the enterprise AI stack, including models, tools, orchestration frameworks, data platforms, context services, governance capabilities, observability, and feedback loops.
The AI Agentic Platform is expected to enable teams to build agents that are not only powered by LLMs, but also grounded in trusted enterprise context. This includes access to business data, semantic metadata, knowledge systems, retrieval services, user and workflow context, agent memory, enterprise tools, and policy-aware integrations.
In a highly regulated healthcare environment, quality, security, compliance, observability, and responsible AI are essential. The team works closely with product owners, architects, AI engineers, data engineers, security experts, compliance teams, and business stakeholders to deliver platform capabilities that are technically strong, enterprise-ready, and easy to adopt.
