Senior .NET Developer – Healthcare IT
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Developer to design, develop, and maintain healthcare applications that support clinical, operational, and business processes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the Microsoft technology stack, healthcare interoperability standards, and secure application development practices. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that comply with healthcare regulations and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-grade healthcare applications using the Microsoft .NET platform.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and web applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET 6/7/8, and related technologies.
- Integrate healthcare systems using standards such as HL7, FHIR, X12, CCD/C-CDA, and healthcare APIs.
- Develop scalable solutions for Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR), patient portals, claims processing, and clinical workflows.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, and healthcare stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, data privacy, and security requirements.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Implement secure coding practices and participate in application security assessments.
- Create technical documentation, design specifications, and deployment procedures.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and release management activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years working with .NET technologies.
- Strong proficiency in:
- C#
- ASP.NET MVC/Core
- .NET Framework and .NET Core/.NET 6+
- Web API development
- Entity Framework/Core
- LINQ
- SQL Server
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming, and SOLID principles.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
- Hands-on experience with source control systems such as Git and Azure DevOps.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the healthcare industry.
- Knowledge of:
- HL7 v2/v3
- FHIR
- EHR/EMR integrations (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts)
- Healthcare claims processing
- ICD-10, CPT, and other healthcare coding standards
- Experience with:
- Azure Functions
- Azure Service Bus
- Azure API Management
- Docker and Kubernetes
- React, Angular, or Blazor
- Familiarity with healthcare analytics and reporting solutions.
- Relevant Microsoft Azure or healthcare IT certifications.
