Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling and installing shelving units, ladder racks, partitions, and other equipment inside vans. This role uses hand and power tools to build and install components while following assembly instructions, diagrams, and basic blueprints. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys hands-on work, and is comfortable working around vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install shelving units, ladder racks, partitions, foot runners, and related van equipment.
  • Pre-assemble cabinets, shelving, and other components using assembly instructions.
  • Use hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, and hammers.
  • Read and follow diagrams, assembly drawings, and basic blueprints.
  • Measure and mark locations accurately using a tape measure.
  • Inspect finished assemblies to ensure quality, fit, and alignment.
  • Perform general production and assembly tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.
  • Support production goals and assist during high-volume periods.

Requirements

  • Previous mechanical assembly or hands-on production experience.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read assembly instructions, diagrams, and basic blueprints.
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Interest in vehicle-related or mechanic-type work.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, twist, and squat throughout the shift.
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work occasional Saturdays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, installation, or assembly environments.
  • Experience working around vehicles or vehicle interiors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ownership of basic hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers).

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday
  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Occasional Saturday overtime during busy periods.

Work Environment

  • Non-climate-controlled production and assembly facility.
  • Hands-on work installing equipment inside vans.
  • Frequent lifting, bending, twisting, and standing throughout the day.
  • Regular use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Steel-toe footwear required.
  • Safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wentzville, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
