Hiring Mechanical Assembler with pay up to $20/hr in St. Charles, IL

Responsibilities :

  • Interpret assembly drawings, elevation drawings, and work orders to accurately build electrical switchgear cabinets.
  • Assemble modular steel cabinets and copper bus assemblies according to specifications.
  • Gather required materials, hardware, and components for each build.
  • Use hand tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and measuring tools.
  • Operate power tools such as drills, impact tools, and pneumatic torque wrenches.
  • Read and use tape measures accurately.
  • Perform basic inspections to ensure products meet quality standards before completion.
  • Follow work instructions, blueprints, and safety procedures throughout the assembly process.
  • Work closely with fabrication, welding, wiring, and production teams to meet customer requirements and production schedules.

Requirements :

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Machine Builder, Automotive Mechanic, or similar hands-on manufacturing role.
  • Experience working in a custom manufacturing, job shop, or build-to-order environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of electrical symbols and electrical schematics.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations, including fractions and decimals.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • High School Diploma or Technical School education preferred but not required.
