Overview

We are seeking an experienced Java/Scala Developer to join a fast-paced engineering team supporting applications within a Capital Markets environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, hands-on Scala experience, and expertise building scalable applications using Spring Boot. Candidates should be comfortable working with databases and writing SQL queries while collaborating in an Agile environment.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• 7+ years of experience with Java
• 4+ years of hands-on Scala development experience
• Strong experience developing applications using Spring Boot
• Experience designing and developing RESTful services and microservices
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL querying
• Ability to write efficient queries and perform data analysis/debugging as needed
• Experience writing clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working within Agile development teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Trading platforms or Front Office applications
• Capital Markets experience
• Banking or Financial Services experience
• Experience with event-driven or distributed systems
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and containerization tools
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java and Scala applications
• Build and enhance microservices using Spring Boot
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions
• Develop and optimize database queries to support application functionality
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions
• Contribute to architecture and technical design discussions

Pay Range:

$92 - $92 per hour
