Job Title: Cleanroom Small Component Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling precision square layered cell stacks in a new, cleanroom-based department. You will follow detailed written instructions and visual diagrams to build delicate, small components with a high degree of accuracy, perform in-process quality checks, and document your work while collaborating closely with the engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble square layered cell stacks of approximately 15 inches using templates to ensure each layer is placed precisely within defined edges.
  • Follow written work instructions, operations sheets, and visual diagrams to complete each step of the assembly process in the correct order.
  • Continuously add layers to each stack while maintaining alignment and accuracy without mechanical guides or guards.
  • Perform regular quality checks to verify that all layers remain properly aligned and that no dust, debris, or particles are present on any component.
  • Use an air gun carefully to remove particles from layers without damaging components.
  • Send fully assembled stacks to the machine press for final pressing and consolidation.
  • Document all work performed, including process steps and quality checks, in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Communicate closely with the engineering team to report issues, clarify instructions, and support process improvements.
  • Maintain a high level of focus and consistency while performing repetitive tasks, either sitting or standing for extended periods.
  • Follow cleanroom protocols and safety procedures at all times to protect product quality and maintain a controlled environment.

Essential Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience in small component assembly, such as small mechanical or electrical assemblies.
  • Proven experience working from operations sheets, written work instructions, and visual diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precise, delicate work consistently.
  • Ability to perform highly repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Comfort working in a cleanroom environment with strict cleanliness and procedural standards.
  • Capability to work effectively while sitting or standing for long periods.
  • Strong communication skills to document work clearly and collaborate with engineering.
  • Curious mindset with a willingness to ask questions and understand the reasons behind processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with small electrical assembly or similar fine, delicate work.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle small parts and assemblies with care and precision.
  • Interest in continuous learning and improving processes as the department grows.
  • Ability to work closely and harmoniously with a small team in a quiet environment.
  • Comfort using basic hand tools in a production or assembly setting.

Why Work Here?

You will join a new, growing department where your contributions directly shape processes and standards from the ground up. The environment supports curious learners who enjoy improving how work is done and collaborating closely with engineering. You will work in a clean, well-organized, and climate-controlled facility that values precision, quality, and focus, offering a stable weekday schedule with structured training and orientation.

Work Environment

This role is based in a well-lit, very quiet, climate-controlled cleanroom environment. You will wear a hairnet, beard net (as applicable), smock or gown, booties, steel-toe footwear, and safety glasses as standard attire. No additional personal protective equipment, medical clearances, or formal certifications are required for entry into the area. The department is small, with only two people working side by side, so you should be comfortable collaborating closely in a quiet, focused setting. The team is actively building and developing this department, so processes may evolve as operations grow. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, with a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a second shift to be confirmed (anticipated to be either 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.). Orientation will take place on first shift, with training likely occurring on a split shift or on first shift.
