Summary The Quality Program Manager supports and promotes the corporate quality team specifically for the management of vendors that supply electronic devices as defined under Electronic Device Supplier Identification Form. These electronic devices are typically used in the design, development and manufacturing of lighting products. This position will be tasked to lead and maintain the Supplier PPAP Process for all vendors that supply electronic devices. In addition, they will support any problem-solving activities at the Electronic Device Vendors (either on site or locally). Typically, the Quality Program Manager works cross functionally with employees, suppliers and customers to ensure Lighting Programs meet PPAP Timing requirements. During the course of the supplier PPAP process they may be tasked with the evaluation of and develop improvement of, techniques to improve supplier quality activity as it pertains to any vendor that supplies an electronic device. Review customer and Flex-N-Gate testing requirements and ensure that all documentation and systems are in place. Work with suppliers to ensure testing requirements are being met on time. Oversee PPAP process. Ensure applicable suppliers meet all PPAP requirements. Manage and validate suppliers through self-assessments and onsite audits. Work with suppliers to close all open items with prompt execution. Provide support onsite to Flex-N-Gate/suppliers as needed. Support prototype builds (document according to prototype checklist inspection process). Collect all relevant data that pertains to all PPAP elements. Report weekly / monthly to the Manager on Supplier PPAP progress. Provide support and maintain compliance with all company guidelines, union contracts, TS16949, ISO14001, and all applicable government regulations and standards. Define and implement “Customer indicators” to monitor the satisfaction level of the customer and reporting back to management. Additional assignments at Manager's direction. Advise on improvements in tracking and reporting procedures. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related technology or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing facility that offered the opportunity to gain a well-rounded background in quality engineering. Six Sigma certification preferred. Knowledge of production process, machines, tools, including design and uses as it pertains to electronic devices Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office and the use of statistical software. Working Conditions Physical ability to lift 20lbs. Travel as necessary and as required. Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals. The ability to see details at close range. Excellent visual acuity combined with the ability of a minimum of FMHH average color discrimination. Must be able to lift, twist, bend, squat, climb, stand and walk in close, confined surroundings. Overtime as required. Weekend work may be required. May be exposed to hazards associated with manufacturing.
