Job Title: 24/7 NOC Operations Support Engineer

Job Description:

Are you ready to be a crucial part of our 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC) team as an Operations Support Engineer? In this role, you'll be at the heart of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of our fixed voice core networks. We rely on these networks to provide rock-solid voice services to our customers around the clock. You'll need a deep understanding of various voice network technologies, protocols, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Round-the-Clock Support: As a member of our NOC team, you'll be part of a 24/7 operation. This means you'll be there to monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain network performance at all hours, including nights and weekends.
  2. Network Monitoring: Keep a vigilant eye on our networks, including C20/vC20, SBC/vSBC, G6/G9, STP/vSTP, PSX, Q20/Q21, DMS, E10B, Dialogic, Service Brokers, EPAP/PAPE, SONUS, Steer Shaking STI, NP Mongo, Broadsoft, Metaswitch, ITFS, Ultimaco, PSTN-AXE Ericsson, and NGN-Ericsson. Spot and address issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  3. Immediate Response: When network incidents occur, you'll jump into action, assess the situation, and resolve issues quickly to minimize service disruption.
  4. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all incidents, responses, and actions taken. This documentation will be invaluable for future reference and improvements.
  5. Communication: Keep the lines of communication open with cross-functional teams and external vendors. You'll play a critical role in coordinating responses to network incidents.
  6. Network Optimization: Work on network optimization and performance enhancements even during non-peak hours to ensure our networks run seamlessly.
  7. Security: Stay vigilant for any security threats and vulnerabilities that may affect network integrity. Implement security measures and collaborate with security teams.
  8. Capacity Management: Keep an eye on network capacity and traffic patterns, adjusting resources as needed to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related field is ideal. Certifications like CCNA or CCNP are a big plus.
  • Proven experience in operating, monitoring, and maintaining fixed voice core networks, ideally in a 24/7 NOC environment.
  • You're well-versed in voice network protocols like SIP, H.323, MGCP, and RTP.
  • Familiarity with network equipment and technologies from a wide array of vendors.
  • Strong grasp of IP networking, routing, and switching.
  • Experience using network monitoring and management tools.
  • Your problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are top-notch, adaptable to different technologies.
  • Stellar communication and collaboration skills. You'll work with cross-functional teams in a multi-faceted network environment.
  • You thrive in a 24/7 operation and are ready to handle urgent network issues at any time.
