In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

Position Overview

• We are hiring a developer to join the ATS Development Team (DevSecOps CoE) within the Digital Platform Division.
• You will work on an AI-powered technical support automation system that uses multi-agent workflows to automatically investigate Jira tickets for connected car services.
• The project is in active development, transitioning from a Gradio-based prototype to a Jira ticket-driven production backend service deployed on AWS.

What You'll Build

• A Jira-integrated backend service that automatically detects ticket events, runs AI-driven investigations via specialized worker agents, and writes structured results back to Jira.
• New worker agents that query external systems (vehicle dashboards, access logs, databases, monitoring tools) and synthesize investigation findings.
• Event-driven data pipelines connecting Jira webhooks, SQS queues, and LangGraph investigation workflows.
• Human-AI collaboration flows where AI escalates to operators through Jira comments and continues investigation upon response.

Required technical and professional expertise

Python

• Strong proficiency with type hints, async patterns, and modern Python idioms.
• Experience with Poetry for dependency management.
• Familiarity with mypy, ruff, and pytest.

LLM/AI Agent Frameworks

• Hands-on experience with LangChain and/or LangGraph (multi-agent orchestration, tool-calling patterns, state graphs).
• Understanding of prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, and token cost management.
• Experience building agentic systems that coordinate multiple specialized agents.

AWS

• ECS, ECR, EFS, Bedrock (Claude), SQS, Lambda.
• Containerized deployment with Docker.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience is a plus.

API Integration

• REST API design and consumption (FastAPI).
• Jira Cloud API (webhooks, issue CRUD, comment management).
• Experience integrating multiple external APIs into a unified workflow.

Vector Search / RAG

• Experience with vector databases (LanceDB or similar)
• Understanding of embedding-based similarity search and retrieval-augmented generation

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Selenium or browser automation for web scraping/data extraction.
• Datadog or similar observability platform experience.
• Gradio or similar rapid-prototyping UI frameworks.
• Experience with M-Flow or similar process governance frameworks (Full Agile pattern).
• Familiarity with connected car / IoT / telematics platforms.
• Atlassian ecosystem knowledge (Jira project administration, webhooks, Rovo).
