TD Engineer is a core individual contributor in the Test Development organization, responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining high‑quality test assets for WLM New Product Development (NPD).
What You Will Do
1. Test Development & Execution: Develop, automate, and execute tests for assigned features or test areas; Follow defined test plans, frameworks, and standards; Ensure test results are accurate, traceable, and reproducible;
2. Early Defect Detection & Reporting: Detect issues within assigned test scope as early as possible; Report defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting data
3. Failure Analysis & Issue Resolution: Support FA by collecting logs, data, and running debug experiments; Execute analysis tasks under guidance;
4. Engineering Discipline & Efficiency: Follow Global TD process, version control, and documentation standards; Maintain assigned test assets with good quality; Contribute to efficiency improvements within existing frameworks;
5. Collaboration & Technical Leadership: Collaborate effectively with peers and cross‑functional partners; Continuously learn product architecture and test methodologies; Share learnings and improvements within the team
6. Work closely with senior engineers and leaders to mentor, guide, and oversee the work of junior engineers and external contractors, ensuring correct execution and quality delivery.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
SCOPE: Self + immediate peers (delivered with predictable quality, efficiency, and traceability, under defined technical guidance).
EDUCATION:
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Automation, Networking, Electrical or Optical Engineering, or a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED: 1+ years testing or development experience in Computer/Network/OTN/DWDM and related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
PREFERRED: Design experience of automation tools and testing of DWDM/OTN related products
SKILLS & ABILITIES: (If the nature of the position requires certain certificates, they should be specified here)
REQUIRED:
PREFERRED: • Working knowledge of optical module design or testing (e.g., EDFA, OCM, WSS).
