Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling components in accordance with engineering, quality, and safety standards to meet customer requirements and production targets. Working closely with machine operators and warehouse associates, this role supports day-to-day production activities while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace. The ideal candidate brings basic mechanical assembly experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily production assembly tasks, including building and assembling housed bearing assemblies and related functional mechanical assemblies.
  • Carry out basic machine operating functions to support production and value-added processes.
  • Work cross-functionally with other assembly and value-add departments to ensure smooth workflow and on-time completion of orders.
  • Process inventory and raw materials throughout the department, including handling, organizing, and tracking materials as required.
  • Interpret and follow engineering and quality standards to ensure all assemblies meet customer specifications and company requirements.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area by following all procedures, rules, and housekeeping practices.
  • Use basic hand tools and equipment correctly and safely during assembly tasks.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and terminology to assemble components accurately.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of warehouse or assembly work experience.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members across departments.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50–60 lbs as part of daily duties.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings and mechanical terminology.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment while meeting quality and safety standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical assembly experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience performing basic machine operating functions.
  • Familiarity with inventory and raw material handling within a warehouse or production environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with machine operators, warehouse associates, and other assembly team members.

Work Environment

This role is based in a brand-new, modern facility that is not climate controlled, with large ceiling fans circulating airflow throughout the workspace. The environment is production-focused and fast-paced, with close collaboration among assembly, machine operation, and warehouse teams. On-site, employees have access to a cantina where beverages such as water, soda, and energy drinks are complimentary, and snacks are available for purchase and must be scanned so they can be restocked properly. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety procedures at all times.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
