Job Title: Process Operator

Job Description

The Process Operator supports a large, climate-controlled ethanol production facility by safely operating and monitoring equipment throughout the full production process. This role combines hands-on mechanical work with computer-based process control, including troubleshooting conveyors, pumps, valves, and forklifts, performing lockout/tagout procedures, and using a DCS system and basic Microsoft Office tools to track and document operations. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly motivated, and able to methodically walk through and troubleshoot an entire process from start to finish in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor ethanol production equipment across the full process, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent operations.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues on conveyors, forklifts, pumps, valves, and related production machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to safely isolate equipment before maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair work.
  • Unload materials using a sit-down, gas-powered forklift in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Check and record temperatures of bearings and other critical components to identify potential maintenance needs or equipment issues.
  • Use a DCS (Distributed Control System) to monitor process conditions, identify required actions, and adjust parameters as needed.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience as a Chemical Operator or in a process operations role.
  • 3–5 years of experience performing lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures in an industrial or production environment.
  • 3+ years of mechanical troubleshooting experience in areas such as conveyors, pumps, valves, chemical processes, mixing, or production equipment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $62400.00/yr.
