The Facilities Technician provides comprehensive maintenance support to ensure assigned buildings remain safe, secure, and well-maintained. This role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing building systems, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting facility operations to ensure a reliable and efficient environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the facility regularly to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Troubleshoot and repair power systems, HVAC systems and controls, and other mechanical systems to maintain optimal performance.
  • Perform general and preventive maintenance on building systems, including carpentry and plumbing tasks.
  • Coordinate and oversee vendor activities related to facility maintenance and services, ensuring quality and timely completion of work.
  • Replace lighting system components, including bulbs and ballasts, as needed to maintain proper illumination throughout the facility.
  • Move and arrange office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested to support operational needs.
  • Use appropriate tools, equipment, and maintenance techniques to diagnose and resolve facility-related issues efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report issues or hazards promptly.
  • Work independently to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively while meeting maintenance schedules and service expectations.

Essential Skills

  • 5–7 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and basic repair of HVAC equipment and controls.
  • Experience performing general building maintenance, including carpentry and plumbing tasks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot power systems and mechanical systems within a facility environment.
  • Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and ensure work is completed accurately and safely.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to diagnose maintenance issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with colleagues, vendors, and building occupants.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a corporate or campus-style environment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with vendor management and coordination of external maintenance services.
  • Comfort working across multiple building systems, including lighting, mechanical, and basic structural components.
  • Ability to perform physically active tasks such as moving furniture, equipment, and materials.
  • Willingness and ability to work 2nd and 3rd shift schedules.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of King of Prussia, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
