Position Summary

The Access Manager for the Office of Inclusive Learning & Accessibility Services will be responsible for removing barriers that prohibit MSM learners and trainees from student success by liaising between multiple offices and departments to assure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act, Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities. Additionally, the Access Manager will serve as the POC in mitigating student concerns as it pertains to: the diversity and inclusion, the student experience, career and accessibility services.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Inclusive Learning and Accessibility Services, the Access Manager will contribute to the quality of the services provided, administration for the unit, educational outreach programming, faculty and staff training, data management, assessment of services, and training; offers input into policy formation and implementation, quality improvement, and programmatic changes in both The Office of Inclusive Learning and Accessibility Services and the Office of Career Connections. 50% of the duties of this role will be in the Office of Inclusive Learning and Accessibility Services and 50% of the duties of this role will be in the Office of Career Services.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, Student Affairs, Higher Education or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: 3 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Education:Master’s degree preferred.

Description of Job Duty

  • Contributes to the formation, enforcement and tracking of policies.
  • Supports the Assistant Dean with monitoring and development new programs, policies, and procedures relating to college compliance and the promotion of opportunities for persons with disabilities.
  • Remove barriers related to student success by serving as the POC and liaison to facilitate communication and collaboration among multiple units and constituents involved in delivering programs that support MSM learners and trainees.
  • Provides advanced support in the development of databases, reports, presentations, correspondence, and the organization and analysis of data.
  • Develops and maintains written materials and other informational pieces to broadly disseminate information regarding the ADA and MSM policies and procedures.
  • Designs and participates in the development of presentations for students, faculty, and staff on the provision of equal opportunity for differently abled individuals.
  • Serve as the front office manager, and contribute to all departmental initiatives in OILAS and OCC.
  • Plans and coordinate in person and virtual departmental events management for OILAS and OCC.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate training and skill development workshops to include resume, cover letter, CV, and other professional presentations.
  • Manage resources in support of programming and independent learner accessibility including internet, electronic media, and others.
  • Develop tailored outreach, programming and customized seminars, workshops, and programs based on student needs assessment and faculty requests.
  • Work with and advise faculty and institutional administrators on methods to enhance and promote inclusive learning at MSM.
  • Develop external and corporate partnerships that will assist in the job placement, internship, externship and summer research opportunities for MSM students.
  • Maintain individual advising appointments and advisement sessions.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to implement strategic initiatives aligned with campus and institutional resources to support MSM learners and trainees.
  • Works collaboratively with the Assistant Dean and staff to develop annual strategic plan, outcomes assessment, and reporting activities.
  • Effectively coordinates all administrative activities and budgets including invoices, and departmental reconciliation.
  • Assist the Office of the ODI/OILAS with the program management/administrative activities associated with strategic plan.
  • Assist with institutional grant writing and development activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean/Associate Dean.

Immunization Requirements

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are encouraged to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
