WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Program Specialist III performs complex (journey-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:

  • Perform an array of technical assistance, training, research, planning, policy, program assessment, and administrative activities related to program assignment.
  • Perform comprehensive reviews of literature, statutes, rules, and/or policies and prepares administrative reports, studies, and specialized research projects.
  • Analyze new or existing ETP-related procedures, information systems, or related interfaces for efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring compliance with Chapter 840 of the Texas Administrative Code.
  • Prepare the ETPL for regular publication to the agency’s website.
  • Serve as the TWC point of contact for Boards, training providers, and the public regarding the ETP program’s procedures, policies, and automated system functions.
  • Serve as liaison to staff, government agencies, community organizations, or the general public to explain and provide technical assistance on program specifics and requirements.
  • Perform related work as assigned.

YOU QUALIFY WITH:

  • One year and six months of full-time experience in the development, implementation, or interpretation of policies and procedures in a public or private agency.
  • Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
