Performance Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end performance testing, including requirement gathering, test planning, scripting, execution, analysis, and result reporting/sharing with stakeholders.
• Develop and execute performance test scripts for multiple concurrent products/projects.
• Set up and design various load test scenarios (e.g., load test, endurance test, stress test, failover test).
• Monitor server utilization during test runs.
• Possess good experience in Performance Optimization—troubleshooting and fixing performance issues.
• Collaborate and coordinate with dependent teams (development, architecture, infrastructure, engineering) to define success criteria and evaluation methodologies.
• Implement and maintain DevOps Capabilities, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices using test labs and tools.
• Manage source code, environment, deployment, and release.
• Conduct proof of concepts to evaluate the feasibility of new tools, technology, and requirements.

Required Skills

• Experience 6-8 years in performance testing with strong knowledge of product performance testing concepts, methodologies, and techniques.
• Performance Tools 4-6 years of experience in developing and executing performance test scripts using tools like HP LoadRunner, JMeter, or Gatling (Scala), or any home-grown testing platform, alongside Java, .Net, or Python.
• Monitoring & Analysis Must have good experience using server monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, SPLUNK, site scope, new relic, or HP BSM. Proficient in analysis of performance test results for presentation to the product team.
• Development & Source Control Proficient in using Integrated Development Tools like IntelliJ, Eclipse, along with Source Control Systems like Git.

Methodology Thorough understanding of SDLC and specifically performance testing processes in Agile development environments. Good understanding of multiple performance test frameworks and DevOps.

Soft Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adjust to meet the needs of the audience. Strong communication and

project management skills.

Work Style Should be able to work independently, handle multiple projects in parallel, learn quickly, and solve problems.
