Job Summary

The Principal Solution Architect, Digital & Transformation – SAP BW is a leader with deep technical expertise and the ability to operate autonomously in a global enterprise environment. This role is responsible for the overall architecture, design, development, and implementation of SAP BW on HANA solutions, leading end-to-end enterprise data warehousing and analytics initiatives.

The position leads a team of developers and serves as the bridge between complex business requirements and technical execution. The role combines strong architectural vision with hands-on technical capabilities in solution design, development, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.

Success in this role requires clear, structured communication and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams, including Business, Functional, Basis, DBI, Infrastructure, and Analytics teams.

The Principal Solution Architect must translate technical concepts into business-friendly language and ensure alignment across stakeholders, developers, and leadership.

Operating across global teams and time zones, the role maintains a hands-on approach while providing technical leadership, governance oversight, and escalation management. The position requires extensive experience in SAP BW, integration with PBI/Fabric, enterprise data warehouse design, extraction and reporting frameworks, planning solutions, and team leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design: Own and govern the architectural blueprint for SAP BW, including inbound extractions and outbound PBI/Fabric data flows.
• Data Governance & Modeling: Lead design and implementation of SAP BW on HANA solutions aligned with enterprise analytics strategy. Establish data modeling standards, governance frameworks, and data quality metrics.
• Must have good experience in cross co-ordination with multiple functional, Basis, Business, DBI and PMO teams ensuring smooth delivery of releases/Gaps/Projects.
• Highly effective communicator who can work across multiple functional teams to align priorities, drive collaboration, and ensure seamless execution of business initiatives. The ideal candidate excels at translating complex information into clear messaging, facilitating alignment between technical and non-technical stakeholders, and proactively resolving communication gaps. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, and the ability to influence without authority.
• Hands on leader with prior Team Lead Experience managing Business/Stakeholders expectations and handling team of 8+ developers.
• Prior experience in designing dataflows to PBI/Fabric preferably delta mechanism.
• Solid technical Expertise in both SAP BW, ABAP, CDS Views, HANA to design and guide junior team members and explain design to technical/Domain Leads.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science or Engineering

Work Experience

• 8-10+ years of relevant experience in the areas specified under Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Deep expertise in SAP BI/BW data warehouse architecture, ABAP development, and CDS HANA-based extractions.
• Strong experience designing and debugging BADIs, object-oriented classes, and function modules for complex BW custom requirements.
• Expert-level proficiency in writing ABAP transformation routines, including Start, End, and Expert routines

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Hands-on experience with SAP HANA modeling, including Attribute, Analytic, and Calculation Views, with strong capability in performance optimization.
• Experience developing and consuming OData services, including service binding and integration scenarios.
• Experience integrating SAP BW with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric (including delta mechanisms), and SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Nice to have prior experience in SAP BPC development.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive and innovative mindset.
• Maintain awareness of all relevant SOPs in accordance with company policy.
• Ensure continuous compliance with company safety and quality standards.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Travel Requirements

20%: Up to 52 business days per year

Shift

Prefer 12pm – 9pm India time. Willingness to work outside of these hours as needed
