Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to join our thrift store team.
The Cashier will be responsible for greeting customers, processing transactions accurately,
answering questions, and helping maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system
- Accurately process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions
- Bag purchases and assist customers as needed
- Answer customer questions and provide excellent service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked checkout area
- Assist with pricing, tagging, and restocking merchandise when needed
- Balance cash drawer and follow cash-handling procedures
- Follow company policies, procedures, and loss prevention guidelines
- Support team members with general store duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous cashier, retail, or customer service experience preferred
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
