Job Description
The Data Warehouse Platform sits within the Data Platform Tribe, which empowers data professionals across Danske Bank and serves as the Group’s professional data warehousing team. The tribe sources and manages data from systems across the bank’s geographies and uses the Group’s infrastructure to deliver timely, accurate information for business intelligence, reporting and regulatory needs. It owns the infrastructure behind the group-wide data platform and has deep knowledge of the bank’s data.
The Data Platform Tribe builds and maintains the Group’s modern data platform, supporting data professionals in all group functions and helping other squads deliver key initiatives in data ingestion, processing, curation, orchestration, protection and management.
You will join a dynamic, multicultural team dedicated to maintaining and developing the platform. You will optimise our SQL domain for seamless integration and better performance and help drive our DataBricks journey, building scalable and innovative data solutions.
- We are growing our team and looking for a couple mid – level to senior engineers. The role and seniority will be aligned with your experience and expertise.
The role:
- Maintain MS SQL database infrastructure
- Improve scalability, availability, and efficiency of database infrastructure
- Apply best practices whenever possible and establish/follow procedures for critical activities
- Manage service capacity planning, software performance analysis, and system tuning
- Ensure the healthy lifecycle status of database infrastructure components
- Automate processes
- Provide feedback to stakeholders to enhance the availability and efficiency of business applications through support and collaboration
- Maintain technical documentation
About you:
- 5-7+ years’ experience with MS SQL Server in production (development + administration)
- Strong SQL query optimisation and performance tuning experience
- Experience with SQL Server performance monitoring and troubleshooting
- Experience with public cloud, preferably AWS
- Experience (or strong interest) in Databricks and Delta Lake
- Understanding of Medallion architecture (bronze / silver / gold)
- Solid development practices: clean code, testing, documentation
- Experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in agile teams and collaborating with business stakeholders
- Good communication skills in English
Monthly salary ranges from 4960 EUR to 7440 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
