In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

What you'll do:

Release Management

  • Own and manage the end-to-end Salesforce release lifecycle from planning through post-deployment validation
  • Define, maintain, and communicate the release calendar across all Salesforce applications including ServiceMax, Sales Cloud, and Service Cloud
  • Coordinate release activities across development, QA, business analysis, and business stakeholder teams
  • Manage change requests, release conflicts, and prioritisation decisions in partnership with the Programme Manager
  • Maintain release artefacts including release notes, deployment checklists, go/no-go criteria, and post-release reports
  • Enforce release governance standards and ensure all changes follow the defined change management process
  • Manage Salesforce sandbox strategy and environment refresh schedules in alignment with release timelines

Cutover Planning & Execution

  • Lead the development and maintenance of detailed cutover plans for all major and minor Salesforce releases
  • Define cutover runbooks, task sequencing, owner assignments, and rollback procedures for every release
  • Facilitate cutover rehearsals and dry-run sessions with technical and business teams
  • Own the go/no-go decision process and coordinate with leadership, business owners, and technical leads prior to every production deployment
  • Manage hypercare periods post-cutover, including incident triage, defect prioritisation, and business communication
  • Coordinate with downstream system owners (ServiceMax, MuleSoft, SAP, etc.) on integration cutover dependencies

Stakeholder & Communication Management

  • Serve as the primary communication point for all release and cutover activities to business and technology leadership
  • Produce and distribute release status reports, cutover dashboards, and post-release summaries
  • Facilitate release readiness reviews and cutover command calls with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Manage escalations during cutover windows and ensure rapid resolution of blocking issues

Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and continuously improve release and cutover processes, templates, and governance frameworks
  • Conduct post-release retrospectives and implement lessons learned into future release cycles
  • Track and report on release KPIs including release success rate, cutover duration, defect escape rate, and rollback frequency
  • Support the transition of applications into the Experience Factory (EF) model

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Salesforce Platform Expertise: Experience with designing, implementing, and supporting Salesforce CRM solutions, including LWC and integration. • Agile Methodologies Knowledge: Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies to ensure a smooth software development lifecycle. • Solution Development Skills: Experience in developing tailored solutions to address clients' unique business needs, leveraging Salesforce's extensive offerings. • System Testing and Quality Assurance: Experience in conducting system testing, user acceptance, and change management programs to ensure a successful implementation. • Business Analysis and Configuration: Experience in guiding clients through business analysis, system configuration, and user adoption processes.

Preferred technical and professional experience

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in Salesforce release management or Salesforce delivery roles
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, deployment tools (Salesforce CLI, Change Sets, ANT, Copado, Gearset, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience managing complex cutover events including multi-system, multi-team production deployments
  • Experience with Agile / SAFe delivery models and sprint-based release cycles
  • Strong command of ITSM / change management processes (ServiceNow or equivalent)
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Experience working with validated or regulated environments (SLC / GxP preferred)
