Material Handler

As a Material Handler, you will work with a team to organize materials and move them within the facility. Adecco is recruiting for this role on behalf of a manufacturing and warehouse client that relies on accurate, timely supply of materials to its production lines. In this role you will use production paperwork to locate, deliver and place materials in a warehouse environment and at the appropriate production lines to help maintain inventory accuracy. The position involves operating powered forklift trucks, hoists, handcarts, and other material handling equipment. This is a fast-paced position that utilizes power industrial equipment and requires attention to detail, adherence to safety requirements, and the ability to work effectively with other Material Handlers and production personnel.

What You Will Do?

• Operate powered forklift trucks, hoists, handcarts, and other material handling equipment while following site procedures and supporting safe, efficient material flow throughout the facility.
• Use production paperwork to locate, deliver and place materials in a warehouse environment and to the production lines to help maintain inventory accuracy during all assigned shifts.
• Maintain equipment in good operating order, following power industrial equipment guidelines and completing start-of-shift inspection checklist to ensure safe and reliable operation of material handling equipment.
• Perform housekeeping and 5S to keep the department clean, safe, and well organized, identifying problems or potential safety hazards and recommends resolutions during daily material handling activities.
• Mentor and train entry-level Material Handlers within their scope of responsibilities and perform warehouse transactions while you Focus on continuous improvements of material handling processes.

Your Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2-4 years related experience as a Material Handler with Demonstrated skills necessary to perform the duties of the position in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
• Competent in the operation of a fork truck and other material handling equipment, and Possess a valid driver’s license to meet site and safety requirements for operating vehicles and power industrial equipment.
• Previous experience in SAP, RF Device, and Warehouse Management preferred for performing warehouse transactions accurately and maintaining inventory accuracy across storage locations and production lines.
• Routinely bends and lifts up to 40 pounds individually and Works in multiple positions during a shift while handling materials, operating equipment, and supporting production lines and warehouse operations.
• Have the Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift while performing housekeeping and 5S, operating power industrial equipment, and completing required material handling and inventory activities.
• Routinely and regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is Occasionally exposed to hot conditions, Occasionally exposed to non-toxic fumes, and Occasionally exposed to oil, grease, gasoline, dust, metal particles and sharp-edged materials while following all applicable safety guidelines.
• Must be able to wear safety glasses, steel toed shoes and hearing protection and consistently follow power industrial equipment guidelines and site safety procedures at all times.

Pay Details: $18.00 to $24.00 per hour
