In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
As an Application Developer for AWS Cloud Modernization, you will act as a developer for Legacy Modernization Solution delivery, utilizing software development fundamentals and assets, tools, and the garage method for cloud. You will leverage your experience in building Modernization architecture solutions from legacy platforms to drive solution delivery. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Design Modernization Architecture: Develop modernization architecture solutions from legacy platforms, including mainframe, iSeries, Solaris, and VAX/VMS, using continuous modernization, co-existence architecture, refactor, containerization, APIs, microservices creation, language conversion, and database conversion. • Map Components to AWS Services: Utilize experience working on AWS to map existing components and functionalities to AWS-specific services, ensuring seamless integration and effective solution delivery. • Develop Application Components: Develop a good understanding of application components, including System of Engagement (SOE), System of Insight (SOI), System of Integration (SOI), and System of Records (SOR), to inform modernization solutions. • Lead Solution Delivery: Lead the delivery of modernization solutions, leveraging experience in software development fundamentals, assets, and tools to ensure high-quality results. • Collaborate on Solution Development: Collaborate with teams to develop and implement modernization solutions, utilizing the garage method for cloud and ensuring alignment with client needs.
