The impact you’ll make

At Lam, as a Buyer, you play a pivotal role in our procurement process. You analyze purchase requirements and coordinate purchasing activities across departments to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of inventory. You'll support processing purchase requisitions, change orders, and quotes (RFQs) from suppliers. Engaging in cost analysis and volume planning within our enterprise-wide systems (ERPs), you negotiate for the best value and explore new supply sources for cost-saving. Your expertise ensures Lam's procurement remains efficient and competitive on a global scale.

In this role, you will directly contribute to ___.

  • Proactively identifying critical supply chain risks and process gaps, and leading the improvement actions and strategies
  • Address factory operation issues through continuous improvement initiatives, such as analyzing historical FAIR issues, Freestock management, and streamlining MRB / RCV/RTV process

What you’ll do

  • Review, analyze and process purchase requisitions and quotations for materials, components, capital equipment and services.
  • Manage purchase orders and changes based on demand.
  • Understand, maintain, and report weekly KPI's.
  • Maintain records of suppliers, materials, prices, delivery dates and inventories.
  • Manage purchase order (PO) releases to meet demand requirements.
  • Contribute to success of WW Purchasing and achieve goals for PO and Receiving Variance activities
  • Achieve zero freestock shortages
  • Support urgent request from FST or stakeholders on shortage escalation

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field with 5+ years of experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel,).
  • Working knowledge or experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or other procurement related tools.
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Aggressive personality to drive other teams and to achieve results.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry or other high-tech industries.
  • Foundational understanding of commodity market indicators and technical data.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to achieve best value pricing.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
