Job Description

Assists in the collection, management, and analysis of clinical and research data for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program at Tulane University, including initiatives related to the Sickle Cell Center of Southern Louisiana and the Hematology/Oncology service line at Manning Family Children’s Hospital.

The position is responsible for data entry, database management, and data analysis using established procedures and statistical software to support ongoing research and programmatic activities. The role also supports the preparation of data outputs for reports, presentations, and research deliverables in collaboration with investigators and research staff.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to conduct statistical analyses and effectively present scientific data
  • Good interpersonal (oral and written) skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented in order to ensure that all study procedures are completed according to the study protocol
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel locally between affiliated sites once a week or as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma and 4-6 years of directly related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year experience in management of databases using REDCap
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Public Health or related
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, SAS, or STATA), as well as the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with research (development of research questions and study design/protocol development) and conducting statistical analyses of clinical measures/biostatistics
  • Familiarity with drafting of tables and or figures for publication of research findings
