Are you looking for a fast-paced and challenging position that will provide you with extremely valuable software development and leadership experience, variety of assignments, and exposure to multiple levels of management and staff in the Employment Development Department (EDD), Information Technology Branch? The EDD is looking for a highly motivated and qualified individual to work in the State Disability Insurance (SDI) Online Section as a Software Developer.
This position reports to the SDI Development Manager and performs a wide range of object-oriented development and analytical responsibilities on various projects in support of the SDI applications. The Developer will work with customers to identify and define problems or issues, analyze and document business requirements, triage and develop new code as well as maintain existing code working through the System Development Life cycle. On projects, developer experiences range from assisting with Project Management tasks and managing schedules to facilitating meetings and presenting solutions in addition to their coding assignments.
The successful candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines, and can work independently as well as part of a team.
This position is headquartered in Downtown Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
