Description

Central Operations refers to a new approach in Amazon Logistics (AMZL) to define a scalable solution to run the increasingly complex and growing last mile delivery network. Central Operations is a key strategic initiative with a vision to transform the way AMZL executes route planning, scheduling, on-road management and last mile delivery.

We are looking for a Program Manager to join the team and drive improvement in processes and technology used within the operational team. This person will have a strong ability to excel and develop in new teams with a high degree of ambiguity.

Key job responsibilities

  • Seek to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal business partners
  • Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems
  • Identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)
  • Ensure critical path timelines are met, resource needs are understood and project prioritization is visible to senior leadership
  • Work closely with operations, product teams and engineering teams to root cause and solve complex problems related to increasing capability and reliability of our systems
  • Partnering with other analysts and BI engineers in planning and analytics to build analytical solutions to deliver on business goals

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of Computerized Maintenance Management System program experience
  • 3+ years of maintenance planner/scheduler in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or distribution industries experience
  • 3+ years of advanced Microsoft Word and Excel experience
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) full time experience
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology
  • Experience in MS Access and SQL
  • Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document
  • Experience with material handling systems (MHS) installation, operation and maintenance
  • Experience working in an analytical environment with cross-functional teams
  • Experience using Microsoft Projects software
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
