About the role
As a Database, DevOps, and Cloud Engineer, you will be at the heart of our system modernization efforts. Your main missions will include:
Database Engineering, Audits, and Cloud Infrastructure:
- Actively participate in the Cloud adoption program (MoveToCloud and CloudLeap), especially for migrating databases to Azure and Bleu.
- Propose and develop tools to facilitate database administration on new Cloud infrastructures.
- Contribute to the Open Source Databases project to support the migration from Oracle to open-source RDBMS.
- Contribute to the Database Security project aimed at enhancing database security.
- Advise functional teams on system evolutions and the sizing of new infrastructures.
- Conduct technological watch and test new database solutions and Cloud services.
DevOps Engineering and Automation:
- Deploy "as code" databases using Crossplane for modern and automated resource management.
- Automate the deployment of on-premise databases via Ansible tooling.
- Set up and manage containerized databases (Podman, Docker).
- Use GitLab CI to automate deployment, configuration changes management, and database copying.
- Deploy and maintain an observability stack based on Prometheus for database monitoring.
- Support application teams in adopting DevOps practices and automating deployments.
Support Activities:
- Diagnose and fix database-related errors, proposing sustainable solutions.
- Be a key actor during incidents and problems, analyzing causes and proposing durable solutions.
About you
- Proven experience in SQL and NoSQL database administration.
- First experience with databases in the Cloud (Database As A Service).
- Experience in automated database deployment (as code, Ansible, Crossplane).
- Interest in containerized environments and managing databases via Docker or Podman.
- Proficiency with Continuous Integration tools (GitLab CI).
- Enjoy teamwork, customer service orientation, autonomy, rigor, and organization.
- Curiosity, innovation, and capacity to propose new solutions.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and synthesis skills.
- Knowledge of Orange France's IT system and OBS IT organization is a plus.
