Medical Administrator (Senior) - Ranelagh Medical

Specific Job Details:

  • Contract: Permanent Full-time
  • Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
  • Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:30am to 17:30pm
  • Location: 22-26 Sandford Rd, Ranelagh, Dublin 6, D06 KF84
  • Salary Range: Up to €18 per hour depending on experience

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Act as admin team lead and main point of contact for supporting the practices and practice managers, and where relevant to attend meetings in the absence of practice managers.
  • Assist with providing and monitoring KPI’s in conjunction with the practice manager if required
  • Where required provide necessary information to the finance team in the specified timelines and ensure bank lodgements are carried out in line with policy
  • Assist with the management of staff rotas, ensuring that sufficient cover is in place to meet business needs. To include monitoring the requirement for suitable cover for annual leave across all disciplines
  • Collation and submission of claims, e.g., GMS, Social Welfare, Childhood vaccines, maternity etc.
  • Champion the delivery of an excellent patient experience by the administration team, e.g., keeping patients informed & going the extra mile for every patient
  • Liaise with third party providers offering ancillary services in the practice and provide assistance and support when required
  • Answering all in-coming calls and re-directing as appropriate
  • Managing patient appointments
  • Meeting & greeting all patients to the Practice
  • Cash handling and issuing of receipts
  • Maintaining GMS records
  • Preparing prescriptions
  • Scanning and filing

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisation skills with an ability to prioritise and plan effectively
  • A key understanding and/or experience in a primary care setting is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of computerised medical practice is desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to be a team player with the added ability to lead when necessary
  • Excellent customer service skills and discretion in adherence to patient confidentiality
  • Ability to use initiative and problem solve
  • Computer literate in Word/Excel/E-mail
  • Flexible attitude to changing work practices
  • A willingness and accessibility to work across multiple sites within the region
